TORONTO engagement photographer for real couples
As a Toronto engagement photographer, I look for the in-between moments: the laugh after a bad joke, the hand that finds yours, the walk home in golden light.
In other words, no stiff poses. Instead, we explore a place you love, and I guide you just enough. Planning the wedding too? See my wedding photography.

Candid and creative
Above all, every couple is different. As a result, some sessions are playful and colourful, while others are quiet, moody and black and white.

How it works
Your session with a Toronto engagement photographer
01
Say hello
First, send your ideas, your favourite places and a few possible dates.
02
Pick the place
Then we choose a location together, in Toronto, Ottawa or somewhere that means something to you.
03
Plan the light
In most cases, we meet about two hours before sunset, because golden hour is soft and flattering.
04
Just be you
Finally, I guide you gently, so the photos feel like you, not like a pose.
Where to shoot
Favourite locations
Although the city has endless backdrops, a place that means something to you always makes the best photos. For instance, your first-date café can beat any landmark.
Toronto
High Park for blossoms and trees, the Distillery District for brick lanes and lanterns, and the Scarborough Bluffs for wide views over the lake.
Ottawa
The Rideau Canal, Major’s Hill Park and Parliament Hill are classics. For more ideas, read the guide to engagement photography in Ottawa.
Further away
Some couples travel for their session. For example, see a mountain engagement session in Banff.

Before your session
Tips from a Toronto engagement photographer
Chase golden hour
Light is everything. Just after sunrise or just before sunset, skin glows and backgrounds soften.
Dress like yourselves
Coordinate colours rather than matching them, and wear shoes you can walk in. In addition, a second outfit adds variety.
Use the seasons
Autumn leaves, spring blossoms and even deep snow all set a different mood. Similarly, a rainy day can be wonderfully romantic.
Let’s plan it

Questions
Questions for your Toronto engagement photographer
For wedding prices, see the wedding photography packages. In addition, the FAQ covers the wedding day, and real weddings show full stories.
Why book an engagement session?
Above all, it’s a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. As a result, you’ll feel at ease on the day, and you’ll also have beautiful photos for save-the-dates.
When is the best time for engagement photos?
Golden hour, just after sunrise or before sunset, gives the softest light. In fact, spring and autumn are especially popular, although winter sessions in the snow are some of my favourites.
What should we wear?
Wear what you feel good in. For example, coordinated colours, simple textures and comfortable shoes work best, while large logos and busy patterns tend to distract.
Do you photograph engagement sessions in Ottawa too?
Yes. In fact, I’m now based in Ottawa, so sessions at the Rideau Canal or Major’s Hill Park are easy to plan. Read the Ottawa engagement photography guide for location ideas.
How much is an engagement session?
It depends on the location and on whether it’s paired with your wedding coverage. In that case, simply send your date and plans, and I’ll reply with a quote, usually within 24 hours.
