Ottawa has a thriving Indian community. As such, we find it important to connect with all cultures. We aim to provide all communities with bespoke wedding photography services that meet their unique needs. We’ve got extensive experience as wedding photographers at Indian weddings across the world. For example, we have traveled to Jaipur, Udaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Dubai, Nairobi, Geneva, Canada etc.. Here are just some of the most eccentric and exciting events that we’ve taken part in.
INDIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION
Before the day of the wedding, it’s traditional to take part in the Sangeet. It is an event which brings together the families of the wedding couple to sing, dance and celebrate the joy of the upcoming wedding. Of course, friends are also welcome to join in the Sangeet. Because it makes for a fun and unique cross-culture mingling event. As a result, there will be many opportunities to take memorable photographs to add to the wedding photo album.
THE MEHENDI CEREMONY
Henna paint designs are some of the most beautiful and intricate patterns we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. The Mehendi ceremony is where complex yet elegant henna paint designs are applied to the bride’s hands and feet. The ceremony takes place a day before the marriage. It can take several hours to perfect finish the application.
THE MAJESTIC BARAAT
The Baraat is an energetic musical event that usually takes place on the day of the wedding. The groom travels down the street towards the wedding venue accompanied by music and family, singing and dancing as they go along. The groom traditionally rides a white horse decorated with flowers and an embroidered saddle. Finally, he dons a ceremonial sword and his favourite young male cousin sits with him on the saddle. It’s a colorful, thrilling and invigorating experience that is perfect for a Ottawa or Gatineau wedding photographers to snap up some unforgettable pictures.
