Documentary Wedding Photography in FREDERICTON
The quiet second before the ceremony begins, a deep breath, a look exchanged, fingers laced a little tighter, often holds the whole story of your day. Those are the frames I’m after. I offer documentary wedding photography in Fredericton and across New Brunswick: natural, never staged, and so low-key you’ll barely notice I’m there.

Wedding Photographer in Fredericton, NB
Hi, I’m Christophe, a wedding photographer in Fredericton and across New Brunswick. If you’re planning a wedding here, I’d love to hear about it. Tell me the big plans, and tell me the weird little details too. Those details usually end up in my favourite photos.
After 14 years and more than 300 weddings, I still wake up a little nervous and a lot excited on every wedding day. Fredericton is one of my favourite places to shoot in the Maritimes. It’s small, quiet and full of character, and it changes completely with the seasons. In spring, the trees along the Saint John River come into bloom. By summer, the river turns gold around 7 p.m. Fall paints the whole city red and orange. In winter, snow settles on the old brick downtown and it feels like a movie set. I know when and where the best light shows up, so we’ll build your timeline around it.
Real Moments, Edited Like a Magazine
I call my style docu-editorial. I photograph your day as it really happens, then edit it so it looks polished and intentional. You won’t get a 40-minute session of “okay, now look at each other and laugh.” I don’t use a shot list. I watch and wait, and I get the real laugh when it happens. That might be your best friend crying through her speech. It might be your grandma on the dance floor. It might be the two of you sneaking off for five minutes alone. Your photos should help you remember how the day felt, and how it looked is only part of that.
My Favourite Wedding Photo Spots in Fredericton
- Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge. It’s great for a first look over the river, especially at sunset.
- The Historic Garrison District. Brick, stone and cobblestones give you a classic, slightly European feel without the plane ticket.
- Odell Park. The forest trails are green and quiet. It’s perfect if crowds stress you out.
- Killarney Lake. It’s calm and simple, and I love it for elopements and small ceremonies.
- Kingswood. It’s a good fit for a full reception with plenty of room for everyone you love.
If you have a spot that means something to you, like where you had your first date or your favourite coffee place, that’s where I want to be.
